This course is designed to teach you how to use Photoshop to create dazzling
digital matte paintings of 3D space, in just one month. You’ll learn all about perspective settings and adding detail like crenelations, draw ellipses,
and polish the final drawing to create the effect we see in movies like “The Matrix” or “Star Wars: Episodes I & II”.
one of the most important aspects of matte painting is knowing how to set up the
vanishing points which determine how a scene appears in a picture. In this course, David Mattingly teaches you about the three types of perspective,
as well as how to set up your own vanishing points for amazing effects in your paintings.
We’ll dig into the basics of perspective when we look at your screen, and learn that there are three types of perspective:
linear, convergent and divergent. Then David will show you how to start figuring out your composition using an estimated 2-perspective cube.
We’ll then move on to the actual drawing itself, using a Wacom tablet, pencils and ultimately digital tools like Photoshop with this course.
