Dr. Stanislav Grof was one of the first Westerners to study the effects of

LSD and other psychedelic drugs in psychiatric patients, and he was among the founders of transpersonal psychology.

As a young doctor and research scientist in Prague, Czechoslovakia with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, he conducted early studies of these compounds in test subjects
